What’s  happening AT Pukeko Corner?

Big thanks to Monika Sharma for helping us make our Diwali a wonderful celebration. Lots of fun, creating and yummy food, just what we like.

We have started doing a lot more walks and bus trips lately, all part of our exploring of our community.  There is so much to see, learn and experience out there, why be stuck within a fence. To make these experiences happen we need lots of parent help so please help us make these a regular part of our programme. Please make sure that your child has good walking shoes and a named sunhat. That brings us to the subject of hats/potae.  We have hats here, lovely green ones but with those creepy crawly nits around it is best practice to supply your child with a named hat that goes in the children's locker when taken off.

It’s getting warmer so we also need lots of spare clothes for all the mud and waterplay.  You can even bring rash shirts for quick drying.

Teacher’s Professional Development

As teachers we are always striving for excellence. Professional development and professional dialogue is a common occurrence around here. Cathy and Corina went to a Christian Early Childhood Conference and are continuing reflecting on their practice and looking for ways to improve.

Jody and Kim when on a 2 day course on Autism and how to provide the best learning experiences for all our children.  They had two of their tutors visit and one said  “this is the best centre he had ever been in”.  We all took the time to pat ourselves on our backs.
